Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Sul, and Paraná Lead the Rankings

Brazil, the world’s largest soybean producer, is expected to harvest 147.35 million tons of soybeans in the 2023/24 season, according to estimates from the National Supply Company (Conab). But which Brazilian states are the top producers? Let’s find out!

This year’s harvest is projected to be 4.7% lower than the previous season due to adverse weather conditions in key producing regions. Despite these challenges, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Sul, and Paraná remain the top three producers, followed by Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul.

The Conab report highlights that despite climate extremes across different growth stages, farmers showcased strong technical capabilities, demonstrating their preparedness for various farming challenges.

Several states experienced irregular rainfall during the planting phase, including Mato Grosso, Paraná, Goiás, and Mato Grosso do Sul. Meanwhile, Rio Grande do Sul initially had favorable conditions, but excessive rain in May disrupted the harvest in some areas. Below are the details for the top soybean-producing states.
