Sirbov will enable detailed sanitary records for each animal, fostering access to new markets.

The Secretary of Agriculture of São Paulo, Guilherme Piai, officially launched the Individual Identification and Traceability System for Cattle and Buffaloes (Sirbov SP). The announcement took place on Tuesday, November 19, during the opening of the International Meat Production Chain Fair (Feicorte) in Presidente Prudente.

With a cattle population of 11 million and R$ 2.9 billion in meat exports recorded in the first ten months of the year, São Paulo seeks to enhance its livestock management through this new initiative.

Benefits of Sirbov

Sirbov will allow the creation of a comprehensive sanitary history for each animal, a critical step toward:

  • Improved herd management for ranchers.
  • Facilitation of market expansion, particularly in international trade.

“The system will be voluntary for ranchers, providing them with an opportunity to enhance their herd management practices,” explained Secretary Piai.

Land Regularization Efforts

On the same day, the state delivered titles for 130,000 hectares of land in the Pontal do Paranapanema region. Piai emphasized that the goal is to regularize 600,000 hectares in total.

These efforts demonstrate São Paulo’s commitment to advancing both livestock production and land management, setting the stage for sustained growth in the agricultural sector.
