According to the cooperative, this is part of a business diversification strategy.

Cooxupé, the largest coffee cooperative in Latin America, announced on October 8th, 2024, that it will enter the corporate coffee supply market in the state of São Paulo. This initiative is being carried out through Cooxupé’s roasting unit, which has partnered with Master Expresso, a company specialized in coffee solutions. The operation will be managed by Mirante Investimentos.

Master Expresso provides coffee machines on a lending basis to businesses and food service companies, offering all the necessary supplies for their operation. Now, the company will also distribute Cooxupé’s coffee products, such as Prima Qualitá brand sachets, among others.

Business Diversification Strategy

This partnership aligns with Cooxupé’s strategy to diversify its business through its roasting unit, which has been active in the Brazilian market for 40 years, processing coffee from approximately 20,000 member families. Expanding operations into São Paulo’s corporate market represents a new opportunity for growth.

“Cooxupé is globally recognized for its quality standards and processes. We see the corporate market as a great opportunity to diversify through our roasting industry, adding more value for the cooperative families,” explained Mário Panhotta da Silva, Cooxupé’s Superintendent of Roasting and New Business, in a statement.

Currently, Cooxupé’s roasting unit ranks as the seventh largest in the Brazilian coffee sector, according to the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association (ABIC). Through this new initiative, the cooperative consolidates its members’ production into a new distribution channel, delivering a coffee produced with sustainable agricultural practices and supported by a cooperative with over 90 years of experience.

Strengthening Market Presence

“This combination of expertise allows Master Expresso to expand its client base, giving customers access to the best coffee produced by our 20,000 member families, with traceability and certification, ensuring food safety,” said Carlos Augusto Rodrigues de Melo, President of Cooxupé.

According to Márcio Graicer, Managing Partner of Master Expresso, the partnership provides an opportunity to further expand in São Paulo, a state known for its concentration of businesses and corporate tourism. “We will be delivering coffee endorsed by Cooxupé, with complete origin and sustainability guarantees,” Graicer added.
