Total Funding Still Available Reaches R$ 11.2 Billion
On Tuesday, October 22, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) announced the release of R$ 2.2 billion for credit operations under the 2024/25 Harvest Plan (Plano Safra).
With this allocation, the total amount still available for the Federal Government’s Agricultural Programs (PAGF) reaches R$ 11.2 billion, which can be used until June 2025.
The funds are intended for rural producers, cooperatives, and family farmers. They can be used for financing and investments in production expansion, machinery and equipment purchases, storage solutions, and innovation.
So far, BNDES has approved R$ 17.1 billion in operations, processing over 81,000 applications through its network of accredited financial agents, according to the institution.
The total funding provided by BNDES for the 2024/25 Harvest Plan amounts to R$ 66.5 billion, a significant increase compared to the R$ 38.4 billion allocated in the previous season. Of this total, R$ 14.8 billion is directed to small family farmers, representing a 28% increase over the last agricultural cycle.
