3tentos’ board of directors has approved a bank credit note for $500 million from BNDES to advance the construction of a corn ethanol plant in Porto Alegre do Norte, Mato Grosso.
As previously reported, the plant’s construction is part of the company’s broader investment plan, with a projected expenditure of $2 billion by 2030.
The ethanol plant will require an investment of $1.04 billion and, once operational, will have a daily production capacity of 935,000 liters of ethanol, 587 tons of DDGS (corn meal), and 37 tons of corn oil. Completion is expected by 2026.
In the second quarter of this year, the company, based in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, saw its net profit increase by 89.3%, reaching $145.64 million. Net revenue totaled $2.8 billion, marking a 58.9% rise.
