African Country is Brazil’s Third Largest Agricultural Importer in Africa

Brazil has announced the opening of a new market for olive oil exports. A portion of the national production, primarily concentrated in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the Serra da Mantiqueira region, will now be destined for Morocco.

This news comes shortly after the approval in September for the export of dry distiller’s grains (DDG or DDGS) from Brazil to Morocco.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Morocco has been one of the major importers of Brazilian agricultural products. In 2023, trade reached US$ 1.23 billion. Between January and September of this year, the value surpassed US$ 903 million.

“With this new authorization, Brazilian agribusiness reaches its 193rd market opening this year, totaling 271 openings to 61 destinations since the beginning of 2023,” highlighted the Ministry in a statement.
