This was the second-best result in the country’s history, only behind the record set in September, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

In October, Brazil secured 34 market openings for the export of agricultural products to 12 different countries. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this performance is the second-best in history, only surpassed by September of this year, which saw a record 55 new markets in 14 countries.

The openings covered various productive sectors, with notable highlights including cotton lint and seeds destined for Saudi Arabia; cocoa beans and yerba mate for the Eurasian Union countries (Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan); sheep and goat semen and embryos for Cuba; macadamia nuts for Japan; and sheep and goat meat for Qatar, among others.

As a result, Brazil has achieved a total of 192 market openings in 48 destinations from January to October.

“More than 65% of the openings during this administration occurred in posts where we have agricultural attachés, and with the expansion from 29 to 40 posts, many more records are certainly on the way,” stated Luis Rua, the Secretary of Commerce and International Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture.
